The last few months of 2024 were a blur of events, parties, gatherings, parades and pageantry – making it easy for news to get lost in the shuffle. So, we wanted to share some good news you may have missed.


Marine Bank President and CEO Bill Penney was presented with the Inspiring Leader award at the 102nd Indian River County Chamber of Commerce's Annual Meeting & Awards Dinner in November.

In December, Treasure Coast Girls Coalition Executive Director Shala Edwards (seen here with Bill Penney and Nicki Maslin) cut the ribbon on a new facility in Sebastian which is the nerve center for the coalition’s efforts to educate, elevate, and empower girls to be the best they can be.

Marine Bank's Chief Lending Officer Shaun Williams was elected Treasurer of the Florida CCIM Chapter East Coast District. As a member, Shaun has added to his extensive knowledge of the commercial real estate industry and improved upon his ability to minimize risk, maximize ROI, and optimize the value of real estate.

The Florida Citrus Hall of Fame announced that Marine Bank's Chairman of the Board Dan Richey will be inducted in March 2025. As President and CEO of Riverfront Packing Company, Dan is known for his leadership and tenacious support, promotion, and defense of Florida’s citrus industry.

Indian River County School District Superintendent Dr. David Moore was selected as Florida's superintendent of the year. He has also been named as one of four finalists for Superintendent of the Year by AASA, The School Superintendents Association, for his focus on developing career and technical education programs, ensuring financial stability, and boosting student safety. The winner will be named in March. 

Marine Bank Commercial Banking Officer Thomas Schinske was appointed to the Investment Committee for St. Lucie County. He is one of five members who will be advising the county commissioners on matters relating to financial investments.

In January, Byrania Bastian was promoted to Assistant Manager of our new full-service banking center at 603 N, Indian River Drive in downtown Fort Pierce. Her commitment to our clients and values makes her very deserving of this promotion.
