The National Aeronautic Association Announces

2025 Brewer Trophy Recipient

The National Aeronautic Association (NAA) announced that Doug Matthews has been selected as the 2025 recipient of the Frank G. Brewer Trophy. The Brewer Trophy, established in 1943, honors significant contributions of enduring value to aerospace education in the United States and is housed at the National Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C. Past recipients of the Brewer Trophy include Edward Stimpson, Peggy Chabrian, the National Air and Space Museum’s docent corps, the NASA Spacelink Team, Barrington Irving, and the 2024 recipient, Glendon Fraser.

Airbus celebrates 10 years of aircraft production in Mobile, driving growth in Alabama’s aerospace sector.


Since launching operations in 2015 with a team of around 300, Airbus has grown into a major force in the nation’s aerospace sector. Today, the Mobile site employs more than 2,000 people and produces A320 and A220 Family aircraft for customers across the U.S. and Latin America.

Bombardier Celebrates 20 Years of Excellence at

Chicago and Frankfurt Parts Hubs

Bombardier’s Chicago and Frankfurt parts hubs, each celebrating its 20th year in service, are on track to reach new shipment milestones in the upcoming months that number in the millions. The Chicago hub, which ships almost 2,000 individual part numbers daily, is projected to surpass the 10 million mark by early 2026.

Cessna Rolls Out New Citation Ascend Business Jet


The Cessna Citation Ascend rolled out of the Textron Aviation factory on Monday in Wichita, Kansas. The sleek business jet is the latest model in the 560XL series and the latest member of the Citation family, which has been crisscrossing the globe for decades.

Embraer Adds Starlink Connectivity to Praetor Jets

Embraer will offer Starlink in-flight connectivity as an aftermarket option for Praetor 500/600 and Legacy 450/500 business jets. The service will be available through a supplemental type certificate developed in partnership with Nextant Aerospace, the engineering arm of Flexjet.

Gulfstream Delivers First G800


Gulfstream announced the delivery of its first G800 business jet.


The twin-engine aircraft, first announced in late 2021, has the longest range of any business jet flying at 8,200 nm. It was certified by the FAA and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in April.

RTX's Collins Aerospace Awarded NATO Contract for Electromagnetic Warfare Command and Control System

Collins Aerospace, an RTX (NYSE: RTX) business, has been awarded a contract by the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) to provide its Electronic Warfare Planning and Battle Management (EWPBM) solution to NATO. This integrated software tool is designed to plan, direct, coordinate, synchronize, and assess electromagnetic warfare activities.

Nominations are now open for the Wichita Aero Club Trophy. The Wichita Aero Club Trophy is awarded annually to a living person, group, or organization with a strong relationship to the greater Wichita area. The nominee(s) will be considered on the basis of exemplary achievements in the aerospace field accomplished during the past year or, as appropriate, over an extended period or career. Competitors at the 2025 FAI F3A World Championship for Aerobatic Model Aircraft enjoyed the first class facilities at the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) National Flying Site in Muncie, Indiana. United Parachute Technologies to Receive

FAI Group Diploma of Honor

The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (World Air Sports Federation) has selected United Parachute Technologies as the 2025 recipient of the FAI Group Diploma of Honor. The FAI presents this prestigious award “to recognize groups of people (design offices, scientific bodies, aeronautical publications, etc.) that have contributed significantly to the progress of aeronautics and astronautics during the previous year or years.” Read more here.
