Happy New Year everyone,

I’m Marty Chakoian, and I’m honored to serve as Board Chair for Us TOO International this year. We have some other new officers and Board members who we will introduce to you soon.

As we enter 2021, we are pleased to provide you with the latest issue of the Hot SHEET newsletter. Please note – if you subscribe to receive the physical copy of the Hot SHEET, we have temporarily suspended that distribution. Due to COVID restrictions and spikes in cases, we have decided it is safer for everyone on staff if we do things electronically for the time being. We will reexamine this on a month-to-month basis, and will start sending the physical copies again as soon as it feels safe for staff to come into the office to do so. We will continue to send out the digital version of the newsletter during this time. (You can always access current and past issues at https://ustoo.org/Read-the-HotSheet-Newsletter).

As I write this, we are wrapping up our annual Holiday Hope campaign. Thank you very much to those who donated - we could not do what we do without you! A special thanks goes out to Kathie Houchens, who provided the cover art to this year’s card. We are excited that we will have prints of Kathie's artwork sent to all $250+ donors.

Are you in need of prostate cancer support? Find a virtual support group, which you can join from any location, at https://www.ustoo.org/virtual-ustoo-support-groups. We hope our more than 200 support groups will again be able to meet in person later this year.

Please check out the videos from our 2020 Prostate Cancer Connections webinar series at https://ustoo.org/ustoo-video. Topics include Imaging, which we recorded on November 19th, Genetics and Genomics recorded on October 15th, and "The Talk” on Prostate Cancer--how to talk to sons and daughters about the disease, which was recorded on June 30th.

Video of the December 30th active surveillance webinar from AnCan and Us TOO featuring Dr. Jonathan Epstein, Director of Surgical Pathology at Johns Hopkins Institutions in Baltimore, is up at https://youtu.be/pv532Jelw7k.

Coming up soon, join NASPCC for their webinar “Theranostics in Prostate Cancer” with Dr. Michael Morris, Section Head of Prostate Cancer, Genitourinary Oncology Service, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, on Monday, January 11, from 7pm – 8pm Eastern. What is theranostics? It’s the combination of radioactive drugs to both diagnose prostate cancer and to deliver therapy to the tumor. On September 13th, we held the SEA Blue 2020 National, Virtual Prostate Cancer Walk and Run. This was certainly a challenging year to put on an event, but we are pretty thrilled with how SEA Blue turned out in light of COVID restrictions. The event centered around a small, socially distant gathering with information and entertainment. While adhering to strict safety restrictions, we were able to exceed our goals for fundraising and we had national, virtual participation to build support, education, advocacy, and awareness for those affected by prostate cancer. Video is now available at https://ustoo.org/ustoo-video. Photos are also posted on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.3782002351830781. Be sure to tag yourself or post any photos that you might have.

Finally, while we all would like to put the COVID-19 pandemic behind us, we are very grateful for Dr. Mark Moyad's continuing series of articles on COVID and prostate cancer. Be sure to keep up with the latest important information at https://www.ustoo.org/covid.

Thank you for reading. Best wishes to you, your family, and your friends in 2021!
