Made possible by charitable contributions from Pfizer / Astellas   and Bayer   ... Thank You!

We hope that this email and the October issue of the Hot SHEET newsletter ( CLICK HERE ) find you doing well as we enter the last week of September – Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Let’s continue the momentum to raise awareness for prostate cancer by recognizing that it’s an ongoing effort that can only be successful if we make a conscious decision to talk about prostate cancer all year long.

If you haven’t already done so, please help the Patient Access Network Foundation (PAN) learn more about challenges that confront prostate cancer patients looking for financial assistance to cover out-of-pocket costs for medications. CLICK HERE to take a survey, which requires only about five minutes, but must be completed by Friday, September 29.

An investigational clinical study of Focal MR-Guided Focused Ultrasound Treatment of Localized Intermediate-Risk Prostate Lesions is currently enrolling men with Gleason 7 prostate cancer . CLICK HERE to learn more about the PCa003 Study.

We’re very excited to provide The Us TOO Prostate Cancer Clinical Trial Finder . It simplifies the process of identifying clinical trials by matching a patient’s profile with relevant clinical trials. Patient information can be entered online or on the phone by calling a toll-free number to speak with clinical trial navigators who speak English or Spanish! CLICK HERE to check it out.

We were pleased to host the Community Conversation on Prostate Cancer in Wilmington, NC , on Saturday, September 23, in collaboration with local support group leader George Gardner. The event addressed the importance of informed decision making for patients and caregivers specific to PSA testing, active surveillance, treatment options for all phases of prostate cancer from an initial diagnosis to advancing disease, and management of side effects.

We’d like to thank George Gardner and everyone who attended, along with Grace United Methodist Church, Iris Baker and physician presenters Dr. Britt Zimmerman, Dr. Michael Papagikos, and Dr. Justin Markow w ith New Hanover Regional Medical Center, and event sponsors Bayer, Janssen Oncology, Pfizer Oncology / Astellas and Genomic Health .
