Welcome our New 4-H Agent- Becky Sterner

My name is Becky Sterner and I grew up in Mena, AR on a family beef cattle farm. I started out in 4-H showing cattle and chickens at 3 years old and continued showing cattle through high school. I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture Food and Life Sciences majoring in Agriculture Education Communication & Technology concentrating in Agriculture  Leadership and minoring in Agriculture Communications and Agriculture Business.

We will be having a Welcome Reception for Becky at 4-H Fishing Night this Friday, July 6th at 6:30 at Hendrix Pond. Come join us!

Hot Spring County Clover Camp

We are very excited to be returning to the Arkansas 4-H Center for a portion of County Clover Camp this year. We will be at 4-H Center Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday-Friday will be Day Camps at First Baptist Church Family Life Center (where we have Pancake Breakfast) here in Malvern.

While at the 4-H Center all 4-H members are invited to come with us, we will spend Monday night at the Center. Parents are also invited to help chaperone, as long as you are approved  in 4-H Online as a volunteer and have had Overnight Chaperone Training. If  you have not, get with Rachel ASAP, this process can take some time.

The cost to attend the 4-H Center portion of camp will be $62.50. There is no cost to attend the Day Camps held in Malvern. I encourage everyone to attend as much as camp as possible.

Please call the Extension Office to sign up for County Camp by this Friday, July 6th.

State O-Rama- July 24th-27th- U of A

State O-Rama is an excellent opportunity for our Senior 4-H Members. Everyone who competed at District O-Rama is qualified for State. If you were unable to compete, get with Rachel or Becky to find some options that will work if you would still like to attend. You can find more information about other contests here

4-H Fishing Night- Friday, July 6th- 6:30pm

Mr. Maurice Hendrix has graciously invited all the Hot Spring County 4-Hers to come enjoy an evening of fishing at Hendrix Pond.

We will be going next Friday night, July 6th. 4-Hers should bring their own fishing supplies (poles, bait, hooks, etc). We will meet at Mr. Hendrix's pond at 6:30 pm and grill hot dogs.

This will also serve as a Welcome Reception for our new 4-H Agent- Becky Sterner. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a summer evening at Hendrix Farm.
