Governor Stein Delivers First State of the State Address

Governor Josh Stein delivered his first State of the State Address, highlighting the ongoing work to recover in western North Carolina and urging the General Assembly to invest in economic opportunity, workforce development, families and children, public schools, and public safety. Specifically, he urged the General Assembly to resolve their differences and quickly pass a Helene recovery funding bill. 

Former Governor Roy Cooper and Dr. Betsey Tilson Honored with Levine Award for Contributions to Public Health

Former North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper and former State Health Director Dr. Betsey Tilson were recognized for their exemplary accomplishments in public health with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Ron H. Levine Public Health Award at the annual North Carolina Public Health Leaders’ Conference on March 13. The Ron Levine Legacy Award is a prestigious honor named after former North Carolina State Health Director Dr. Ron Levine. Since its inception in 2004, the award has recognized individuals who have significantly improved the public health system, expanded the scope and capacity of public health services or built new and lasting partnerships that strengthen health outcomes for North Carolinians.

Medicaid Expansion in North Carolina: The First Year

Medicaid expansion was hailed as a once-in-a-generation investment to help approximately 600,000 North Carolinians access affordable health coverage in its first two years alone. A little over a year since the day expansion launched, North Carolina has more than delivered on that promise. More than 640,000 people now have health coverage through Medicaid expansion. NC Medicaid Long-Term Services and Supports Provider Forum

NC Medicaid Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) invites you to attend the 2025 LTSS Provider Forum. This two-day statewide conference is designed for providers who support NC Medicaid beneficiaries using LTSS services through NC Medicaid Direct and NC Medicaid Managed Care.

Providers of all service types who administer, manage, and deliver medical, supportive, and home and community-based services to NC Medicaid beneficiaries are encouraged to attend. The forum will bring together providers, advocates, stakeholders, and vendors for valuable learning, networking, and collaboration opportunities.
