DMHDDSUS Visits SouthLight
Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic
| |
The DMHDDSUS team visited SouthLight Healthcare last week. Director Kelly Crosbie, Saraah Waleed, and Alex Scharer joined SouthLight CEO Adam Hartzell and his team for a tour. SouthLight Healthcare provides comprehensive community-based mental health and substance use services as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). It is the first accredited CCBHC in North Carolina.
Expanding recovery and community-based services is a priority of the DMH/DD/SUS 2024-2029 Strategic Plan. CCBHCs provide comprehensive mental health and substance use care for children and adults – regardless of a person’s ability to pay, their insurance status, or where they live. These community-based clinics also provide outpatient primary care screening and monitoring to support the health of the whole person. Other key services include:
- 24/7 Crisis Care
- Veterans’ Community-Based Mental Health Care
- Peer & Family Support Services
- Case Management
- Other Mental Health and Substance Use Treatment and Recovery Services
To find community crisis centers near you, visit the DMHDDSUS Crisis Services webpage.
