NCDHHS Livestream Fireside Chat and Tele-Town Hall

NC Crisis Services - Get Help 24/7

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will host a live fireside chat and tele-town hall on Tuesday, January 28 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. to discuss how people can support their mental well-being, find resources and get help for themselves or someone else experiencing a mental health crisis.


Fireside chat and tele-town hall panelists include:

The fireside chat will stream live from the NCDHHS Facebook and YouTube accounts, where viewers can submit questions. The event also includes a tele-town hall, which invites people by phone to listen in and submit questions. People can dial into the event by calling 855-756-7520, Ext. 119232#.

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is providing free, printed 988 educational materials for barbershops and hair salons. Sign up today for these new window clings and wallet cards. Order materials by February 14, 2025, to receive them by the end of February to share with your community.

NCDHHS HBCU/MSI Internship Program Informational Sessions

The NCDHHS Historically Black College/University and Minority Serving Institutions (HBCU/MSI) Internship Program will host informational sessions for students, university advisors/faculty and other partners to learn more about the 2025 DHHS HBCU/MSI Summer Internship program that includes in-person, hybrid, and remote positions.


The internship program provides more equitable opportunities for internship access within NCDHHS, which supports building a strong and inclusive workforce, one of NCDHHS' strategic priorities. The program also allows interns to learn about what public health professionals, public administrators, social workers, and policymakers do at NCDHHS.

Promoting the Development and Use of Natural Supports

The Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion is pleased to offer the "Foundational Training on Community Inclusion" training series with funding from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and invites you to attend the next webinar in the series. This training will focus on how to support people in developing natural support systems (i.e., people who are not paid to help out, like friends and family members) and engage in activities with them in the community.
