Help Shape TBI Services in North Carolina

Do you or someone you know live with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)? Are you interested in helping improve the services and supports available to individuals with TBI across North Carolina?

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use Services is updating the state’s TBI Action Plan—and we want to hear from you. We are forming an Advisory Workgroup to ensure that the voices of individuals with lived experience, their families, and those who support them are central to this important work.

Sign up for the Advisory Workgroup by Monday, Oct. 13 to share your ideas and help guide this important work. The workgroup will meet on Oct. 22, Nov. 19, and Dec. 17.

World Mental Health Day: North Carolina Stands Together

On October 10, join DMH/DD/SUS, NAMI and communities across North Carolina in recognizing World Mental Health Day. It’s a time to raise awareness, share stories, and advocate for accessible, quality mental health care—because mental health is health.

The Crisis Can’t Wait Campaign is an initiative developed within NAMI’s Community Health Equity Alliance (CHEA) in response to the urgent need for mental health support and resources during a mental health crisis, particularly within Black/African Ancestry and other minoritized communities.

Visit the DMH/DD/SUS Crisis Services webpage for information about how to get support in a crisis and other mental health resources. If you or someone you know is in crisis, call the 988 Suicide & Crisis LifelineFree, confidential help is available 24/7. Together, we find hope. Together, we heal.
