2nd ANNUAL CULTURE DAY
Culture day has been postponed -NOT CANCELLED! We just need to give some folks a little bit extra time to get ready. We have several groups excited to share their traditional dishes, music, and more. So, stay tuned for a new date coming up soon. If you are on the fence about sharing a booth, come talk to Bryce or Victoria next week and see what it’s all about.

ALPHA SUCCESS
The Alpha Breakfast Club wrapped up this past Monday. So far we’ve had great feedback and are excited to hopefully offer this program again next year. Thank you to everyone who participated, helped, and prayed for this course and those in it. Mr. Wilson puts it beautifully:
“The Alpha program connected and engaged students and staff in purposeful Christian fellowship in a way I have never witnessed previously in my 12 years teaching at Immaculata High School. Testament to the efforts of Mrs. Uhrich, Mr. Bertolucci, and Mrs. Rantucci in facilitating and directing a Student Led environment that was engaging, entertaining, and rewarding for all those participating. The Alpha program gathers community with food and video content that leads to small group discussion. The delicious food created by Mrs. Rantucci and Mrs. Uhrich and the small group student led discussion facilitated by Mr. Bertolucci and Mrs. Uhrich was a rich experience for all the students who chose to breakfast at 7am in community on a Monday morning over the 12 weeks. It is my hope that the Alpha Program can become a ‘staple’ for the Immaculata Community in fostering excellence.” Mike Wilson.

GRAD RETREAT
Last week, the grads went to Green Bay in West Kelowna for their Spring Grad Retreat. We played games, ate delicious food, connected with one another, roasted marshmallows, celebrated birthdays, grew a bit wiser, prayed, cried, and laughed together. Thanks for the great times and lasting memories!

Small School. Big Family.

We heard from a community member that the COFB is in dire need of donations. The demand is higher than ever, and not enough donations are coming in. People are being turned away. If you can help in any way, please consider donating. The link below takes you directly to the Food Bank's website to donate. | |
REFUGEE FUNDRAISER DINNER
A sponsoring group lead by Asif Khan, is having a fundraiser Pakistani Dinner on May 4th. Khan was sponsored (with his family of 11), by St. Charles Garnier six years ago. The group is looking for financial support to raise funds to sponsor a friend of theirs (a family of four), who have been stuck in Thailand for 11 years, and whose situation is dire. Although the application was filed over a year ago, the Johnson family could arrive any time now. The dinner is at the Unitarian Church (1310 Bertram) at 6:00pm -by donation. We invite everyone to support this event.

God, our Father, almighty and yet all-loving: For people in power, I pray that they will seek the peace which comes through serving You. Lord Jesus, victim and yet our Savior: For the vulnerable, I pray that they will know the peace of being loved by people serving You. Holy Spirit, one in God and yet dwelling in me: For all who feel crushed in spirit, I pray that they will receive peace and every grace needed for serving You. Amen.
