U.S. RevPAR +4.9% y/y last week; Strong result given geopolitical issues, aided by Vegas + post-storm catch-up | |
As Truist Securities wrote, "Overall, U.S. RevPAR was +4.9% y/y for the week ending 3/7/2026, per STR/CoStar, above the prior week's result of -0.2% y/y and the 10-week average of +1.9% y/y. Last week's results were very strong, especially in light of geopolitical issues. We note the week was lifted by Las Vegas (RevPAR +90.5% y/y), which hosted the CONEXPO/CON-AGG convention (140k+ attendees), with additional tailwinds to the week likely from post-storm catch-up following the prior week's Winter Storm Hernando travel disruptions. While one week does not make a trend, the first week following the start of the Iran war did not seem to impact U.S. hotel RevPAR results. Upscale RevPAR: +1.7% y/y; Upper Midscale RevPAR: +3.0% y/y."
