IN THE MARKET

U.S. RevPAR -1.7% y/y last week; Clean comp w/ results reflective of "K-shaped" economy

As Truist Securities wrote, "Overall, U.S. RevPAR was -1.7% y/y for the week ending 9/13/2025, per STR/ CoStar, below the prior week's result of -0.7% y/y and slightly below the trailing 10-week average of -1.3% y/y. Last week's bifurcated results by chain scale were reflective of the "K-shaped" economy combined with continued Group attrition (Axios). Luxury was the relative chain scale outperformer again with RevPAR +3.1% y/y, above Upper Upscale by 490 bps and above Economy by 770 bps. Reflecting weak attendance for Group events, Group occupancy was -6.5% y/y. Houston RevPAR was -11.8% given a continued tough hurricane comp. Upscale RevPAR: -2.7% y/y; Upper Midscale RevPAR: -2.4% y/y."
