One of the most common myths about boating in our area is that the season ends on Labor Day. Is that really true? From my many years on the River, I can tell you it's far from the case. Over the years, I've had some of my most memorable adventures in the fall when the colors are spectacular, the water is quieter and some days still invite a quick swim. More than that, fall boating still offers something we all crave: a chance to disconnect from a busy routine and enjoy even a weekend escape on the water right up until the weather finally says otherwise.
In our Where We Boat section, you'll read about Joni and Patrick, two of our newest River residents, who swapped the hustle of GTA city life for year-round living on Grenadier Island. From stretching boating into the fall to fully embracing all four seasons in the 1000 Islands, they are the perfect example.

This week marks one year since we moved from the Halton region to Grenadier Island. From the unforgettable sight of the barge currying our U-Haul trucks across the river to navigating winter by airboat, this past year has been filled with more adventures that we could have imagined. We feel truly blessed to call one of the most beautiful places on earth our home surrounded by an incredible community of people. We're grateful for the many friends and family who have visited, as well as new friends and extended "family" we've met on the River. With full hearts, we look forward to more years of sharing and contributing to the strength and spirit of our river community - Joni & Patrick

As in previous years, access to ParkStor must be scheduled in advance with our Crew as it is a gated facility. When you contact our Service, you'll receive a gate code for entry and exit on the scheduled date. After dropping off your vessel, call Service at 613-659-4559 to provide the parking location number you used.
