Dental Therapy News Update:
One Step Closer! House Committee Approves SB 541

This morning the House Health Policy Committee voted 13-3 to move SB 541 to the House floor. The committee adopted a substitute version of the bill that made some technical corrections requested by the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Department with regard to the dental therapy licensing within the Michigan Board of Dentistry.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who contacted legislators to support this bill . Your voices made a difference on this very long road since the Senate passed SB 541 last fall. Sharing your stories about access to care issues, and the tremendous need for more dental providers in so many areas of our state, helped many understand why we need a mid-level dental provider in Michigan.

Please join us in sending a thank you e-mail to the members of the House Health Policy Committee who voted YES on SB 541:
