Imelda & Jimmy, Together at Family House

Seventeen years ago, Imelda was shocked when her newborn son Jimmy was born with serious health complications, including congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH), a hole in the diaphragm that affects about one of every 2,500 births. As a result, Jimmy has spent much of his life in the hospital and traveling to doctor appointments.

Family House is a vital resource providing a temporary home close to Jimmy's medical care so Imelda does not have to drive back and forth from their home in Santa Rosa. 
Family Dinners are Back!

Volunteers are once again cooking up our homemade meals in the Family House kitchens for the first time since COVID-19 restrictions impacted our volunteer-run family dinner service. So far there's been something on the menu for everyone to enjoy, from cheese plates and pigs in a blanket, to savory garlic bread and lasagna!

Three things to know about Diana Marroquin

#1. She’s All in for Moms

Diana has a soft spot in her heart for moms. She knows what it’s like. Trips to the ER with her son Nathan when he was little and his asthma was really bad, have taught her firsthand how important it is to be strong for your child. 

“Don’t worry, I got you,” is her motto and something she tells moms a lot throughout the day.

#2. If Diana was a superhero, she’d be “Excel Girl!”

“I love an excel spreadsheet!” she exclaims. Diana is super organized and believes organization is key to facilitating great communication among her hospitality services team. 

#3. Make it a Grande Soy Milk White Mocha!
At the start of her career, Diana worked behind the barista bar at Starbucks, and a Grande Soy Milk White Mocha continues to be her favorite treat to this day!
