3rd Year in a Row!

Christ's Haven is proud to be counted as one of Fort Worth's The Best Place for Working Parents for a third year in a row. This award is in recognition of the family-friendly policies & practices we offer to support employees, specifically working parents!
Mentoring Matters
January is National Mentoring Month, and we love celebrating mentorship. Pairing up mentors with the children, teens, and young adults living at Christ's Haven is an important part of our trauma-informed, family model of care.

Hear from Christ's Haven's CEO, Cassie McQuitty, about why this program is so important. We also want you to hear from two of our volunteer mentors as they share what their experience has been like. Casey has been a mentor since 2019 to two brothers who live at Christ's Haven. Matthew became a mentor in 2022 to a teen boy at Christ's Haven.

Christ's Haven Mentors
Christ's Haven's Family Resource Center (FRC) was recently certified by the National Family Support Network in their Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support. This is a significant step in the process of growing our FRC and ensuring that we are caring for families with excellence.

Our VP of Programs, Maddie Churchman, and Case Manager & FRC Coordinator, Rhonda Thomas-Peters, were trained and certified in the following 5 areas of practice:

Family Centeredness
Working with a family-centered approach that values families and recognizes them as integral to the Program.

Family Strengthening
Utilizing a family strengthening approach to support families to be strong, healthy, and safe, thereby promoting their success and optimal development.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Valuing, respecting, and embracing families’ diversity, and advancing equity and inclusion.

Community Strengthening
Developing a strong and healthy community by working collaboratively with various stakeholders and supporting families’ civic engagement, leadership development, and ability to effect systems change.

Evaluation
Looking at areas of program strength, as well as areas for further development, in order to guide continuous quality improvement and achieve positive results for families.

Our FRC continues to serve a growing number of families as we stand in the gap for families in need. Visit christshaven.org/frc if you would like more information on receiving support. We help families in need with weekly food boxes, free counseling, case management, crisis services, and parent/caregiver education.
