R&C Welcomes New Of Counsel Lauren Buckner and Jennifer Zatkowski
|
Lauren Buckner has worked on a variety of multifamily redevelopment projects utilizing LIHTCs, tax-exempt bond financing, and FHA financing. In addition to representing for-profit and non-profit entities, Lauren represents small minority-owned businesses on the purchase and sale of commercial properties. Prior to joining R&C, Lauren was a solo practitioner and brings government experience from her tenure as Assistant Attorney General for the DC Office of Attorney General.
Jennifer Zatkowski brings more than 20 years of business and real estate practice experience. She has worked on all sides of real estate transactions, more recently issuing title documents and closing deals utilizing a variety of LIHTC, RAD, and other financing tools in complex, multi-state portfolio transactions. Jennifer's practice is informed by extensive experience examining and resolving complex underwriting issues for commercial properties and by her transactional experience as a Senior Attorney with the Division of Corporation Finance at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

HUD published
an information and resources webpage to inform PHAs and other housing providers, as well as the general public, about steps they can take to prevent and reduce the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). HUD has committed to update the website regularly as information and resources become available.
We understand REAC notified all licensed REAC inspectors on March 13, 2020 that all REAC inspections are postponed effective immediately. In addition, various proposals are under consideration in the House of Representatives regarding COVID-19 assistance, including FHA loan payment relief, emergency rental assistance, homelessness assistance, and supplemental support for PHAs and housing providers.
The CDC produced information regarding COVID-19 and how PHAs, multifamily owners, agents, FHA lenders and others can best respond to the outbreak.

HUD Revises FY 2020 FMRs for HCV and Mod Rehab SRO Programs

HUD revised its FY 2020 FMRs for the following six jurisdictions: Asheville, NC HUD Metro FMR Area (HMFA); Eugene-Springfield, OR Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA); Portland, ME HMFA; Santa Maria-Santa Barbara, CA MSA; Worcester, MA HMFA; and Guam. The revisions are based on PHA-conducted surveys and will go into effect April 10, 2020.

HUD Establishes FY 2020 Inflation Factors for HCV Renewal Funding

HUD established Renewal Funding Inflation Factors (RFIFs) to adjust FY 2020 renewal funding for the Section 8 HCV Program. The methodology used in 2020 is the same as used in 2019.
