Housing Selection: TO DO

Housing Selection Updates

You may now view your individual and group selection time on the Housing Portal under the Housing process.

A few important reminders about selection times:

  • All selection times are in Eastern Standard Time (EST), and fall between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on your assigned day.
  • Selection times are randomly assigned based on the average number of semesters lived on campus (housing credits) for your roommate group.
  • If your roommate group’s average changes, your selection time will change.
  • Please note that if you are slated to live in a theme or block, you will not be able to view your selection times as your housing is pre-allocated.
  • Roommate group leaders who do not sign their housing agreement in advance of their selection time will need to do so before being able to select.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I view my Housing Selection time?
  • You must log into your Housing Portal and click into your Housing Application. Once there, you will click through the application until you reach the "Selection Time" page. Please review this step-by-step guide if you are having issues finding your housing selection time.
  • How do I change who is the group leader for our group?
  • When Housing Selection times are released, it’s crucial that the designated group leader is available to complete the selection process. If the group leader has a scheduling conflict, they should designate someone else in the group who can be available at that time. Please review this step-by-step guide on how to change the group leader.
  • What housing can I expect to be available based on my housing credits?
  • It is impossible to predict precisely, and there are no guarantees. We recommend students review the availability list the morning of their selection day up to their selection time, and utilize this to make a plan A, B, and C as to how they might pivot should an option not be available. Use this worksheet to help you plan!
  • However, please see below on what you may expect depending on your housing credits:
  • 1-2 Housing Credits - You should expect the majority of your options to be on the Quad (Davis, Kitchin, Poteat, Taylor)
  • 3-4 Housing Credits - You should expect slightly expanded options that might include Dogwood, Magnolia, or on-campus apartments. You generally should NOT expect access to Polo or Deacon Place.
  • 5-6 Housing Credits - You should expect the most options including availability in Polo and Deacon Place.
  • I do not have a roommate group. How do I find a roommate group?
  • We have now created a Google Form for those searching for a roommate group. If you fill this out, you will receive a follow up with information about those also searching for a roommate group.
  • Another option is taking advantage of our "Search for a Roommate Group" feature in the Housing Portal. Learn more here.

Interim Housing

Interim Housing is available for students who meet certain criteria to stay on campus beyond our first closing date (including those transitioning to summer school housing, athletes in active competition, those officially involved with commencement, or those with a sibling graduating).

Please note that graduating seniors (with a Pending Completion status in Workday) do NOT need to request Interim housing.

Approved students may be required to relocate to Angelou Hall on May 9. Please do not make plans for that date until you receive your interim housing confirmation.

The housing application for Interim Housing is now live on the Housing Portal.
