FEBRUARY HIGHLIGHTS

29 Workforce Housing Rentals

We’re thrilled to announce that Housing Solutions now officially owns and will manage 29 additional rental units in Flagstaff! The former Western Hills Motel on Route 66 has been fully remodeled into modern studio, 1-, and 2-bedroom apartments. Our Western Hills Apartments community will provide workforce attainable housing for Flagstaff’s middle-income earners, helping local educators, healthcare workers, city staff, and service industry professionals stay in the community they serve. We are deeply grateful to our staff, Board of Directors, and the City of Flagstaff for their support in making this vision a reality. Izabel St Construction Update

Framing is underway and our 11 new affordable apartments are really starting to take shape. We’re excited to be bringing even more safe, stable, and affordable housing to local families right here in Flagstaff. Huge thanks to the Arizona Department of Housing and the City of Flagstaff for helping make this possible — and to our general contractor, Hope Construction, LLC, for bringing the vision to life.

Volunteer of the Month

We are honored to be able to recognize Laura as our Volunteer of the Month at our Sharon's Attic Thrift Store! Laura is a huge advocate for volunteering and believes in the importance of giving back. Thank you, Laura, for all your help and dedication to the store and our mission.

FEBRUARY IMPACT

Sharon Manor

Last month,1 family (including 1 mother and her two kiddos) experiencing homelessness and surviving domestic violence moved into safe, supportive transitional housing at Sharon Manor. They now have access to trauma-informed case management and resources to help them rebuild.

JoJo's Place

In January, we celebrated two successful move-outs at JoJo’s Place. One resident reunified with family and transitioned into permanent, affordable housing, and the second resident relocated out of state to begin their next chapter in stable housing. Each move-out represents meaningful progress toward long-term stability, connection, and independence.

Vouchers for Essentials

5 households from our Sharon Manor transitional housing program and 1 from JoJo's Place used a Sharon's Attic home goods and clothing voucher, allowing them to shop for essential items and furniture at our thrift store. Thank you for donating your gently used furniture and household goods - it makes a difference!

Flagstaff Rentals and Oak Wash Homes

Last month, 54 households remained stably housed through our rental programs—25 low-income families in Flagstaff homes and condos, and 29 formerly homeless households at Oak Wash Homes in Cottonwood.

First Time Homebuyers: 2025 Review

We’re excited to share that in 2025, 27 Northern Arizona households achieved homeownership through our Pre-Purchase Assistance Program. With the support of down payment assistance and pre-purchase counseling, these families were able to put down roots and build stability in our community.

GRATITUDE

Thank You AZ Blue Health Choice

We’re grateful to AZ Blue Health Choice for their $75,000 investment in our transitional housing programs! This support will help up to 50 households experiencing homelessness with move-in expenses, including security deposits, and fund HVAC updates in 14 of our Sharon Manor units. We’re thankful for partners who recognize that health starts with a safe, stable place to call home. As Dr. Heather Carter, CEO of AZ Blue Health Choice, shared: “Strong communities start with strong foundations—and housing is one of the most critical.”

On-Site Food Support at JoJo's

We’re so thankful for the strong on-site food support at JoJo’s Place. Generous donations from the Flagstaff Family Food Center have made a meaningful difference in residents’ food security, and our bi-weekly St. Mary’s food boxes—complete with recipes and meal guides—have been especially appreciated. Residents value the simple, practical instructions that help them prepare healthy, nourishing meals with confidence.
