Dane County 2024 Affordable Housing Development Fund Accepting Applications!


The Dane County Affordable Housing Development Fund (AHDF) was created to encourage the development of affordable housing throughout Dane County, and was allocated $15 million this year to assist with project financing. Dane County Department of Human Services is currently accepting applications, which must be submitted by 12:00pm on August 5, 2024. Update on WHEDA’s Affordable Housing Loans

&

New Technical Assistance Program for Comp Plan Housing Chapter Update



Thursday, August 8, 3:00 – 4:00pm

Join us for an update and discussion with WHEDA’s Rebecca Giroux on WHEDA’s affordable housing loan programs including a new direct to consumer home rehab program. Updates will include information on Infrastructure Access Loan, Restore Main Street Loan, and Vacancy-to-Vitality Loan Program. Come learn, ask your questions, and provide feedback before the next application cycle opens this September! New Technical Assistance Program

Hear from RHS Housing Planner, Alex DeSena, about the Planning Division’s technical assistance program for comp plan housing chapter updates Dane County will be offering this fall. Alex will provide an overview of the technical assistance and scope of work for municipalities interested in updating the housing chapter of their comp plan. First come first serve!

Please welcome our new RHS Housing Planner, Alex DeSena!


Alex DeSena is the new Regional Housing Project Assistant hired to help implement Dane County’s RHS Strategic Action Plan. She will be developing and delivering programming designed to assist municipalities and other housing stakeholders in reaching their housing goals, including technical assistance to update comp plan housing chapters and residential zoning codes.


Alex has dual Master’s Degrees from UW-Madison’s Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture and the La Follette School of Public Affairs concentrating in housing and community development. She brings a great deal of housing related experience including working with youth experiencing housing insecurity at Briarpatch Youth Services, and housing data and analysis for projects at Institute for Community Alliances. She also interned at the City of Sun Prairie to support their housing initiatives by creating the Sun Prairie Affordable Housing Target Area Map using GIS, helping to establish the Sun Prairie Housing Coalition, and various research projects. She looks forward to helping implement the RHS Strategic Action Plan in partnership with the Dane County community!
