Houston Ground Angels
Tony Castiglie, Vice President & Treasurer
As this winter seems to linger on, I see that Houston’s weather forecast is for about 32
° for a few evenings while it will be 2° in Minneapolis. But later this week, it will be 70° in Houston & still 2° in Minneapolis. Where would you rather be?
2019 is off to an excellent start, our best ever. We ran 255 missions during February, the best February ever. This year’s daily average is 9, something we had never before achieved. 43 volunteers stepped up to make this happen with Uber helping us fulfill the difficult missions, i.e. rush hour traffic, late evening runs or short notice requests. As a result, our forecast for 2019 is 3,000 missions, the most ever.
As always, the Archangels step up & they are the primary reason for our early success. Who are they:

We have a few Archangels who will be hitting some milestones this month & they will be announced in next month’s Management Review. I'm always amazed at the dedication of some volunteers & it makes them very special.
We are also working on some improvements to our Mission Management System. The fellow who originally designed & maintained the system passed away several years ago & it left us in a difficult position. A group from Insperity has recently volunteered their services & we hope to get on top of it again. The volunteers will be kept abreast of the project’s status.
March brought us some new volunteers: Phillip Coleman who resides in The Heights & Bill & Lisa Paschal who live in Katy. It is great having all of you aboard & thanks for choosing to be part of our great organization.
As always, to every volunteer who steps up, thanks for your contribution. 2019 is looking good!
