Introducing Byron Grinager, NTM’s Shipping and Receiving Manager. Byron has been with NTM since 1984 (!!) and in his tenure has worn many hats. Byron is instrumental in our process and keeping things running smoothly. Here’s a little more about Byron in his own words.

Title: Shipping and Receiving Manager.

How long have you been with NTM: 39 years. 

What do you do here: Manage all of the Shipping and Receiving for NTM. Manage the stockroom, material handling, facilities maintenance requirements and any machine moves!

Can you share a memory with us?: “When I first started here there were only about a dozen NTM employees, several who I worked with previously at a different machine shop. Everything was done “Old School” on manual machines, except for a tape mill Bridgeport. At the time, over half of the building was rented out to other machine shops.

As the company grew and modernized, NTM took over the entire building, and most of our machines are now CNC. As NTM continued to replace older machines with new technology, the number of employees went from 50 to about 25- we could do more with fewer people! NTM is always looking for ways to make best use of our floor space so we don’t have to move. It has been fun seeing and helping with all of these changes.”

What do you like to do outside of work? Building and driving Street Rods, entering and attending car shows, drag racing, motorcycles, and target shooting.

While the “Giving season” may technically be over, there's almost always a need for support at your local food shelf. Last month, the NTM team donated 83 lbs of food, along with a cash donation of over $750 to support the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, a community education program for the Mounds View Public Schools District.

The Ralph Reeder Food Shelf primarily serves the cities of New Brighton, Mounds View, Shoreview, Arden Hills, North Oaks, Roseville and Ramsey County St. Anthony. To meet the growing demand for services, they rely on volunteers and regular donations of dollars and food from area schools, churches, businesses, clubs and individuals.
