The International Institute of St. Louis condemns acts of aggression and violence that currently are taking place with the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Over the past several weeks, we have continued to get questions from community members, partner organizations, media, and more about what can be done to help.

Currently, we are not seeing large numbers of Ukrainian refugees seeking third-country resettlement here in the U.S. This could change in the future but would require quick and swift action by the federal government. However, there is still work that can be done. Our biggest ask of you is to support and contribute to international emergency aid organizations at this time. These are front-line organizations providing immediate assistance to those in need overseas. When and if third-country resettlement is provided for those fleeing Ukraine, the International Institute will serve as a welcoming beacon to newcomers in St. Louis. We will be sure to update you with ways to lend your support directly in our region.
