This is an exciting season for MCS, as we move forward in our mission and vision to provide unparalleled Christ-centered education to students. The future is indeed bright!
Friends, next week marks the official launch of our 2017 Annual Fund Campaign, one of the cornerstones of Mariners Christian School's Advancement efforts (brochures should arrive at your homes this week via first class mail). As you are likely aware, 95% of educational costs at MCS are covered by tuition; Annual Fund giving is fundamental to our ability to remain on the leading edge as a highly academic and competitive private Christian school in Orange County.
2017 Goal: 100% Family Participation by December 31
Without a doubt, MCS families have been and continue to be incredibly supportive of the past, present, and future of this school. In fact, our new teachers recently shared that one of their biggest blessings and surprises of teaching at MCS is the support they already feel from MCS parents. This is a great affirmation of the positive, Christ-centered culture that you help foster at MCS!
Now through December 31, you will hear a recurring message focused on 100% Family Participation, which may lead you to ask the question, "Why is it so important to reach 100%? Does my family's contribution truly matter?" The answer is a definitive YES - regardless of size, God sees each gift and supernaturally transforms those resources to impact the academic and spiritual development of our students.
As you prayerfully consider your family's involvement, here are two additional points to note that you may not be aware of:
- With healthy parent participation, our school's position with Foundation partners is strengthened dramatically. MCS actively pursues grant requests, and these donors respond more favorably to organizations that demonstrate regular community financial support
- Our peer private schools routinely see 80%+ Annual Fund participation. MCS's 2016 parent participation was just over 40%, which gives us room to grow to reach the standard benchmark for NAIS schools
