T he 2019 market showed little change from 2018. In Fairfield County, the median selling price remained at about $390,000. Closed sales were down from over 11,400 to about 11,200 and the median days on the market to sell a home went slightly up from around 60 to 65. The overall dollar volume was down by about 3.8%.

Quick recap : Total sales for December were up from November by 42 sales. Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk and Wilton had the highest increases. The median selling price dropped in most towns but not by much. The average time it took to sell a home in December went up in some towns and down in others with homes selling the fastest in Norwalk, Stamford and Darien. Sales over $2.0 million accounted for about 10% of all transactions, slightly up and sales below $1.0 million were at about 71%, slightly down.
