FACESOFDEVOTION: Light Up December
|
|
The word "advent" means "coming" – the coming of Jesus Christ to our world. More than 2,000 years ago, Mary waited to bring Him, the Light of the world, to all people. She knew that to dispel darkness, we needed light. Watch the video to see how she brought a different kind of light to the earth in 1830.

The word ‘holiday’ comes from the Old English word “hāligdæg,” or “Holy Day.” It’s was used in the Lindisfarne Gospel, which dates back to the 7th century. The word "Christmas" is from the Old English phrase “Cristes Maesse” (or “Christ’s Mass”) and dates back to at least 1038 AD.

Thank you, Mary, for the miracles I have received. It has changed my live all together; I was down to rags, but Blessed Mary picked me up and blessed me with grace I could never have imagined.

St. Lawrence Justinian said that through the Mass, “sins are wiped away; vices are uprooted; virtue and merit increases; and the devil’s schemes are frustrated.”
Could there possibly be a better gift for your loved ones this year? Give Christ’s Mass, His love and graces, for Christmas. To get your Christmas cards, visit our Gift Shop or call 215-848-1010 or 800-523-3674.
If you've already received your cards and want to enroll your loved ones, you can do so here.
Your card donation will help the sick, the elderly, the poor, and the disabled during these uncertain times—and it will spread devotion to our Blessed Mother. Thank you!

December 12 marks the celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It commemorates when Mary showered her children with roses. Now you can shower her with roses, while celebrating your loved ones perpetually.
Our elegant rose plaques are a beautiful, permanent part of our shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe. What better way can you remember your family and friends – and honor Mary at the same time?
You can also light a vigil candle to thank our Blessed Mother and to honor your loved ones. Learn more here.
