As INTERPRO approaches its quarter-century in business, we are inviting you, our friends and colleagues, to share your story - a monthly "Quote for the Quarter" that describes what is meaningful in your life. Stories that are selected are also followed by a financial contribution from INTERPRO to the author's charity of choice. This month, we feature Jenet Harold, retired after 38 years with Safeco/Symetra Financial.
"Make daily encounters with others a happy/positive one since they may be in their fight of their life to see tomorrow.....that is how you choose to live with no regrets and have assurance of personal JOY!"
Because I value Faith, Family and Friends, in that order, it is a small leap to "do what's right" as I strive to live in community with others. Thoughts on JOY and how to be joyful in all things have been encouragement to me since this is, in my opinion, the way we maintain healthy relationships while supporting others. During the recent months I've consciously added the urgency of pursuing what is best for others by encouraging their joy. Too many friends and family members have recently passed from this earth. Once you lose individuals you only have memories you choose and no more opportunities for maintaining a relationship. I see our individual purpose as living for the living while choosing JOY. - Jenet Harold
Jenet has asked that we make a donation to the Ruth Winquist Scholarship Endowment at King's Schools in Shoreline, Washington. Ruth, Jenet's late mother, was a geometry teacher for 27 years, and when she passed at age 94, many former students attended her memorial service. For more information on the scholarship, Click Here.
The photo is of a quilt made by Jenet in honor of her mother; it is titled "Summer Lily."
