EPA Guidelines for Carpet Cleaning
Recently we completed a carpet cleaning job at Gymboree Play and Music in Fremont, a facility for children (up to age 5), along with parents to come, play and learn. In addition to general cleaning they requested our disinfectant treatment. This level of concern is understandable and appropriate and it made me look into carpet cleaning guidelines for this and other businesses. Below are the EPA guidelines for carpet cleaning:


Obviously, most of us exceed the recommended time frames. However, in so doing, two points are evident and can be pointed out:
  1. Carpets are a wonderful 'sink,' holding so much dirt and filth between actual cleanings!
  2. Human beings can tolerate a pretty dirty environment, at the office or home!
