Living Christ in This World
October 13 ... The Rev. Andrew J. Archie
October 20 ... The Rev. Dr. Stewart D. Clem
October 27 ... The Rev. Andrew J. Archie
We are excited to make available the "Shaping the Future" parish survey as part of the Faithfully Forward Strategic Planning effort commission ed by The Reve rend Andrew Archie. An important part of this effort is learning about the views and opinions of parishioners on a variety of topics. The Strategic Planning Committee values your opinions and hopes you can take a few minutes to complete the survey. Laptops to fill out the surveys, and paper surveys will be available this Sunday in the Great Hall. Paper copies will also be available in both Narthexes.
“Have you ever attended Church on Maundy Thursday? After the washing of the feet, the altar is stripped and the furnishings are carried out by the priests in silence. As the lights are turned down, we are confronted with the image of a worship community laid bare in abandon, despair, and solitude…On Maundy Thursday we’re faced with the real image of an empty Church, where the living flame of Jesus has been extinguished…I bring this up because it means that every year on Good Friday, we come to an empty and barren Church. Without the gifts and support of the congregation, The Church of St. Michael & St. George would look like this every day.”   -Ian Hagemann

If you have any questions or would like to have a conversation about supporting CSMSG, please do not hesitate to reach out to Alexis Azar Posnanski at aposnanski@csmsg.org or 314.721.1502, ext. 4044.
The Standing Committee has unanimously approved a slate of nominees for the election of the Eleventh bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri.

The slate was presented on September 26 by the Search and Nominations Committee, whose members spent nearly a year discerning, searching, discussing, interviewing, and praying with the goal of presenting a slate that serves the needs of our diocese. Mary Ann Cook and Ian Hagemann are our CSMSG Diocesan representatives should you wish to discuss.

Did you know…There are six liturgical seasons in the Christian calendar: Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost, and Ordinary Time. If the rest of the Church year is celebrating Christ’s life and ministry, Ordinary Time is when we celebrate the people and mission of Christ. It is not meant to be “ordinary” or “nothing special”; Ordinary Time is simply the “time through the year between the high holy observances” and celebrates the “mystery of Christ in all its aspects”.
