Good Day to You my Felting Friends!

I hope this newsletter finds you full of inspiration, gratitude, and energy for your day!

The focus of this week's issue is HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH? We hope to help you better plan for your upcoming fall and holiday projects by making sure you have enough wool for your creations.

Please keep in mind that colors may shift from lot to lot, so it is best to buy all the wool you will need for a project at once, if possible of course!

We hope this is helpful, and as always, let us know if you have any questions or need any support by emailing us at customerservice@livingfelt.com

With Love, Marie

xx

More information

1/4 ounce
or less

Each wet felted flower from our felted flower kit weighs approximately 1/8 - 1/4 of an ounce. With our kit, you can expect to make between 10-12 flowers, depending on the size you make!

Recommended wool for wet felted flowers is merino top and merino-silk blends because of the lovely finished look, and the ease of wet felting.

Try our wet felted flower kit.

1 ounce

This collection of fall leaves was made by using 2 layers of our Merino Cross batting in fun colors like Topaz, Poppy, Marigold, Tundra, Walnut and Gold

We created a thin rectangle and wet felted it down to a sheet
approximately 10" x 11"

Then the leaves were cut out.
One ounce yielded 5 larger maple leaves in the 3"- 4" range, and about 10 leaves in the 2"-3" range.

A straight merino wool scarf weighs approximately 2-3 ounces, for a final scarf size of 6" x 60".

If you are making a shawl or wrap, plan for more. Assume at least a 25% shrinkage on your size from start to finish, but it could be more with a more fulled product.

Our cobweb scarf kit is a great place to start because it is both fun and easy. Choose your favorite color and add some matching yarns for great texture and fun fringes.

An adult sized hat like this weighs approximately 4 ounces. This can permit a nice thick hat, and/or provide a nice brim. You may also cut off portions of the brim in your finishing, so the extra wool will be needed.

With our hat kit, you can create a true
one-of-a-kind creation because
you can choose up to 4 custom
colors for your hat!

3 ounces

This small, finished wall hanging measures appoximately 10 1/2" x 11" after being trimmed to straight edges.
It is about 1/4" thick.

It was created from a base of our
wet felting batt wool
,
and a top layer of merino-cross
to create the background.

This was wet felted to create the base of the picture.

Then both Merino-Cross and New Zealand Corriedale were needle felted on top to create this Tree of Life which is one of Marie's Peace Felt projects.

The cut version weighs 2.6oz

2.5 - 3 ounces

This mini-pumpkin patch was needle felted by Living Felt team member Kailey Campbell...aren't they cute?

The largest one, shown in the back, weighs .6 ounces and is approximately 2" x 2" 1/2 inches

These pumpkins were made using our core wool as a foundation and then either Merino-Cross wool or
New Zealand Corriedale
was needle felted outside.

Colors shown are (left ot right)
Pumpkin, copper, out of view,
foliage, melon, tangerine

The whole collection weighs 2.6 ounces.

This just in! Damson is the latest addition to our
Merino-Silk line. Full of lovely shades of blue, purple and
bright white silk -- this will make a stunning scarf, purse, or hat!
