Please Adjust Watering When Temps Change

How Often Should I Water? Your landscape watering depends on what season it is and the current temperatures at the time of year. See our recommended landscape watering times by season above.

What Time Should I Water? We recommend that you water between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. Watering within this timeframe will take advantage of relatively low winds, cooler temperatures, and less loss of water to evaporation.

How Long Should I Water? The number of minutes to water can vary depending on the type of watering device, soil, slope, and plants you have in your garden. See our suggested Irrigation Watering Guide below. Always monitor your irrigation for runoff, and water by hand or manual control as needed.

Learn To Manage Your Lawn and Garden Irrigation

Determine Your Best Schedule

Our Landscape Irrigation Guide was developed to assist you in managing your irrigation programming throughout the changing seasons.

The guide above, provides recommended run times and watering frequency for each month of the year. It may be necessary to make minor adjustments to the listed schedule according to your site's unique conditions, such as soil type, sun and wind exposure, as well as the uniformity of your irrigation system.

As seasons change, remember to adjust your programmed irrigation for your lawn and plants needs. Our conservation staff is available to help you create a custom irrigation schedule and to program your controller. Call us at (831) 384-6131.
