Did you know that each year DICP supports students pursuing higher education degrees, certificates and licenses?

One way we support students is through The Steve Johnsen Scholarship.

The Steve Johnsen Scholarship, named in honor of La Academia’s* founder, supports our mission of empowering individuals and families in our community. (La Academia, was the long-time school run by Denver Inner City Parish.)

This scholarship provides critical financial assistance to help students pursue post-secondary education, offering pathways to meaningful, well-paying careers. With a commitment to breaking the cycle of poverty, this scholarship is open to students seeking certificates or degrees. Award amounts may vary, and recipients are encouraged to reapply as they continue their educational journey.

This year, DICP is excited to take part in an incredible opportunity! We are joining the Nourishing Neighbors Million Hour Volunteer Rally- an initiative led by the Albertsons Companies Foundation to help end hunger in our community. From September through October, Nourishing Neighbors is rallying to reach one million volunteer hours. DICP is proud to be part of this important mission, and we are inviting all our members to join us in making a difference.

But here’s the most important part: Don’t forget to log your hours!

When you log your volunteer hours, not only are you making an impact, but you will also be entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win some amazing prizes- including groceries for a year and a $10,000 donation to our organization!

Additionally, organizations like ours could also secure $25,000 in donations! Every hour you contribute brings us closer to these amazing rewards and strengthens our ability to serve the community! So please, don’t miss out- log your hours today and make your time count!
