When a severe storm containing multiple tornadoes hit a Texas community over Memorial Day weekend, many businesses lost their power and internet connections and had to shut down. However, thanks to some quick thinking and collaboration between MetTel's Customer Care Team and one of our customers in the food and beverage retail space, we were able to leverage one of our many disaster recovery solutions to keep them open to serve the community.

As soon as the storm hit, this customer contacted us, and we worked together to monitor and optimize their connections. We were also able to redirect a nearby Starlink satellite as a backup internet source to keep their point-of-sale and other critical systems connected. As a result, this customer was the only store in the area that was able to operate normally and help their community during this difficult time.
