The bill filing deadlines have now passed in both the Senate and House. Aspire is pleased to see numerous bills filed on our priority issues. We are optimistic about achieving some good work for the business community. Here is how things stand at the Statehouse after filing deadline.

With the help of the Lilly Endowment Inc.’s GIFT VII grant, the Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) is launching the first ever Employer Resource Network® in Johnson County. The ERN® model is a 10-year old, nationally tested program that places Success Coaches in the workplace of participating companies. Aspire is assisting JCCF to launch the ERN program and hire the first Success Coach. The Success Coach will work with employees as they navigate through a challenging situation to reach their goals and succeed in life.

The application previously closed but has been extended. Hoosier small businesses now have until January 22, 2021 to apply for a grant to offset eligible expenses. Business eligibility increased from a max of 50 to 75 full time employees, and more expenses are eligible for reimbursement. And as of September, small businesses that received economic relief funding through federal programs, including the Paycheck Protection Program, Economic Industry Disaster Loans, and Community Development Block Grants, are now eligible to apply!
