Self-care can often be confused with self-indulgence. Self-care will nourish your mental and physical health consistently and over a long period of time.

Self-indulgence, on the other, hand, will be fleeting and may even lead to negative outcomes long-term.

Emotional self-care involves ensuring our emotional needs are met and protected. It means taking time for valued activities that are meaningful to you.

The importance of taking time to pursue or dabble in a hobby is often undervalued but if it appeals to your personal taste and emotional needs, it can be grounding for you, especially when life challenges loom. A hobby can be active or passive and include:

Crafts
Puzzles
Reading about travel destinations
Upscaling furniture
Making jewelry
Playing a musical instrument
Decorating your home

Spiritual Self-care:

Prayer
Meditation
Worship (singing or listening to music)
Community involvement
Journaling
