Picnic Blankets
It's summer time which means picnic time. Why not make your own using some of the beautiful oil cloth available. This video gives you step by step instructions using the sew and flip method.

Convertible Picnic Blanket Tote

Or why not make a convertible blanket. All you need to do is fold it up into a convenient tote, and be on your way to your favourite park or beach outing.

Picnic Blanket Tutorial

This  idea is for using heavier fabrics to create your one of a kind picnic blanket. All you need is:

  • 3 1/2 yards of fabric
  • About 2 yards of heavy fabric like denim (the blanket is going to be 68 inches by 54 inches so depending on how wide your fabric is you will need to figure out how much to get. Denim and other heavy fabrics tend to come wider than regular cottons)
  • 3 packages of wide single fold bias tape in a coordinating colour (or why not make your own).
  • 1 package of cotton batting
  • 6 inches of Velcro
