Greetings!

These have been unprecedented times for us across the globe. Just before the pandemic I started a new venture, on my own with no idea how things would unfold in the flux of stay-at-home orders, social distancing and remote working.

Fortunately, it wasn't just me. We've all had to pivot and even reset as entrepreneurs, professionals and parents.

For many of us, home has become command centre for school, work, church and everything in between.

In the same breath, new business opportunities are also emerging from the most unlikely places as traditional ones buckle under COVID-19's tipping point.

There's so much to garner from this moment personally, professionally and as a family, I'd hate for you to miss it.

Mindful of how exacerbated we all are from these unchartered waters, I thought I'd gather some of the best advice and most useful tips that have helped me and so many others find a steady footing in challenging times. I believe you'll find them useful too.

Warmest,
Enjoy These Pearls of Wisdom
Tried and true nuggets I've curated just for you.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
An Opportunity To Do Business Unusual

With everything going on within the world today concerning the anti-racism protests there are many painful questions by both white and black people, questions like, How did we get here? What will be different this time? A VERY GOOD READ
Let Them See You
I am currently reading “Let Them See You: The Guide for Leveraging Your Diversity at Work” by Porter Braswell (published 2019). One of my favorite quotes from him is “When companies discuss diversity with people in its organization, they need to make it about the business, not a moral obligation.”

Porter is a black, young, well-educated male from Wall Street choosing to be a founder of Jopwell (https://www.jopwell.com/), a platform targeting the recruiting of minorities to make sure they get the best opportunities. He is a diversity champion and this book is perfect for this time to speak on the practicalities of diversity, inclusion and equity. It is not good enough to be ‘the only ones in the room’. From this book we learn what it takes to let the decision makers ‘see’ minorities so there can be more of ‘us’ in the room. Give it a read!
Until we meet again ...
