Director's Letter . . . and my request . . .
Greetings ,

The BTER Foundation's Board of Directors would like to share with you their recommended priority projects for the next 3 years. These "New Project" proposals are outlined below.

But really, our TOP priority continues to be: meeting the public's needs; meeting YOUR needs.

To ensure that our priorities are also YOUR priorities, we are soliciting feedback on the proposals listed below. Please review them. Think about the greatest obstacles you have encountered in the field of biotherapy. Think about your biotherapy wish list. Then let us know which of the following projects best align with your own priorities. If you think that a project not on this list would better meet your needs, tell us about it!

You may provide your RANKING (#1 = highest; #5 = lowest) of these proposals by going to the 3-question survey form HERE, or by sending us your comments by e-mail. Note: the survey will close in 2 weeks.
These are the projects identified by the BTER Foundation Board as top priorities for 2022 - 2025.

1) Work with the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to obtain specific procedural and product codes for maggots and leeches, in order to make it easier to track the use of these commercially available products, and successfully submit reimbursement claims.

2) Clinical study of safety and efficacy of leech therapy for at least one significant medical problem not already cleared by FDA.

3) Clinical study of safety and efficacy of ichthyotherapy for psoriasis (proposal has been written, but is in need of funding).

4) Registry of patient treatment and outcome data, available for research and collaboration, beginning with maggot therapy, hirudotherapy, bee venom therapy, and helminthic therapy.

5) Create a partnership program with clinics and clinicians, to help clients add biotherapeutic modalities to their treatment plans and services.

Please tell us your opinion. How would you rank these priorities (#1 = highest; #5 = lowest). You may share your opinion by going to the 3-question survey form HERE, or you may simply send us your comments by e-mail. If you have questions or want to share with us your own priorities, just leave us a message (Question 4). Again, the survey will close in 2 weeks.

Thanks for Helping us Help you!
