Confirmation is a sacramental rite of the church, in which we prepare by learning more deeply about our Christian faith and the Episcopal Church tradition. If you have never participated in the confirmation process, we encourage you to do so this year, as adults and 10th grade students will journey together on a shared youth and adult confirmation series for the 2020-2021 school year. Led by Adam Williams and Rev. Richard, this class will enlighten participants in many way and will culminate in a worship service where one of our bishops will lay hands on you and confirm your baptism. Adults who have been confirmed in another tradition and those who would like to reaffirm their confirmation before the bishop should also join in.
An information session/kickoff will be held on Sunday, October 11, at 11:30 am., via Zoom. A Zoom link will be posted in Realm events. Contact Adam or Rev. Richard if you have any questions.

Opportunities to give of your time, talent, and treasure
Have you seen our new garden-to-be? The garden bed has two levels. The top level will be used by our horticulture ministry to grow flowers throughout the year to glorify God and provide beauty when we gather for worship. The lower level of the garden bed will be used as hands-on educational opportunity for our littlest disciples, the children at our Preschool.

Just one example of good works and God's grace this year!

Help us continue to cultivate flowers, disciples, and much more. We welcome your pledges of financial support so we can continue ministry in Central Virginia and far beyond.

Annual Blessing of the Pets & Pet Food Drive
In-person and Online
Saturday, October 3, 4 PM
All creatures, great or small, are invited to our annual Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 3 at 4:00 PM. This special day, in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, allows us to come together as a community of loving pets and their loving people. You can gather on the lawn (with masks and social distancing) or gather online. Either way, Rev. Richard will offer a blessing over your pets.
If you can, please bring donations of dry pet food (each bag 5lbs bag or less) to benefit the FeedMore Food Bank. Meals on Wheels volunteers will take the dry pet food to recipients who often face the tough choice of feeding themselves or their furry companions. Your donations and FeedMore’s support mean they all can be fed!

If you lost a pet this year, we are sad for your loss. We invite you take part in-person or online as we say a special prayer of remembrance and to spend time time friends.
