HOW DID YOU COME IN?

Then he ordered all who could swim to jump overboard first and make for land, and he told the others to try for it on planks and debris from the broken ship. So everyone escaped safely ashore. Acts 27: 43,44, NLT

The apostle Paul had to sail to Rome to stand trial before Caesar because he was accused of being an insurrectionist. But during his journey, he experienced several days of rough sailing. Eventually his ship sank, and he and his crew swam to shore on the planks and debris left behind.

Like Paul, maybe your life journey this past year wasn't as smooth as you expected it to be. Maybe you had a number of days of rough sailing and even felt, at times, that the "ship" of your life was going to sink as it was battered with problem after problem. However rough your journey was in 2016, don't forget to thank God for bringing you safely ashore to another year. Even if you came in on planks and debris.

Sharing the word,

Jeaninne

Prayer: Father, whether my journey was a calm one, or I came in on the planks and debris left over from a life battered by storms, thank you for helping me arrive safely to another year. Amen.
