When we speak to groups, I frequently compare our organization to electricity or technology; most people are glad we’re around, but few can communicate how we work. That is why Women United, an affiliate of United Way, will host a free LIVE UNITED Tour during United Days of Caring (UDOC) to visit some of the partners that enhance the United Way network.
UDOC is a global United Way initiative that encourages citizens to devote time to giving back. UDOC will take place April 27 and 28 at various times, depending on the project. The LIVE UNITED Tour will occur Friday, April 27
th
from 2-5. After an introduction about United Way and its network of partners, participants will visit the Boys and Girls Club, Safe House for Women, Community Caring Council, and learn about First Call for Help and the many programs supported by United Way in the Cape Girardeau Public Schools. The tour is free, but limited seating requires a reservation. ‘Tourists’ can register
here.
