October 2015
Thankful

Fall is a pretty busy time for all of us...the kids are back at school, summer vacation is over and we start thinking of the things we need to do in order to prepare for winter.

I know that I am thankful for it all! I am busy, but I am working, I have a home and am surrounded by people who love me and whom I love. Yes, it is crazy busy! Yes, I love every minute of it! And yes, I am thankful for it all!

In a funny way we are all thankful for good leadership in our lives...good leaders make our lives easier by clarifying roles, work and otherwise keeping us, our coworkers and out companies on track. But it ain't always that way!

Our  Spotlight today we look at leadership and how we perceive our workplace and other leaders, and how we can grow as leaders.

I know it is a bit late - but on behalf of the Board I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

President

PS - "winter is coming"...have you thought about committing to the Chapter and serving on our board? We need you!

SPOTLIGHT Spotlight
Leaderhip: Down to Earth, Please!

Sound the trumpets! Call the honour guard! Get your cameras! The leader is coming!

Leadership sometimes looks like that, but for those in business, especially larger companies where 'sightings' of senior management can be extremely rare, perhaps the festivities are more muted, but that aura around our leaders still exists.

LinkedIn: Be Heard!
Are you someone who writes letters to the editor? Do you want to participate in discussions and have your opinion heard?

The CIC has opened up LinkedIn groups across Canada so members can discuss issues important to them and to the credit profession. You have a voice, and now you have a forum to be heard.

A Social Media Moment
