Who was Carlo Acutis?
On Oct. 10, 2020, this
Catholic Italian teenager will be beatified!
(i.e. Declared Blessed, the step before Canonization when one is publicly recognized as being a saint in heaven with God)
An inspiration for youth on how to participate in life in this world, but live authentically for the next,
Carlo was a gamer and computer programmer
who loved soccer and the Eucharist.
He created a site listing Eucharistic miracles around the world.
Born May 3, 1991, Carlo grew up in Italy.
Diagnosed with leukemia as a teenager,
Carlo offered his sufferings
for Pope Benedict XVI and for the Church, saying,
“I offer all the suffering I will have to suffer
for the Lord, for the Pope, and the Church.”
He died on Oct. 12, 2006,
buried in Assisi, because of his love for St. Francis of Assisi.
His cause for canonization began in 2013.
He was designated “Venerable” in 2018,
and will be designated “Blessed” October 10.
