I heard several inspiring, accomplished, empowered women speak today. Many shared about their challenges and where they are now and the impact they have created. They were people like you and me, who believed in themselves and took risks and kept listening to the voice inside.
As an entrepreneur and advocate of positivity, I have a challenging road because 'good news' and doing positive things for ourselves is not popular. In many cases, we wait until we are sick or in pain to act rather than take preventative measures to be healthy. Would you agree? Do you go to your dentist as often as you should? Do you exercise enough? Do you eat healthy daily? Do you incorporate a spiritual practice into your life, daily? I'll be honest right here and right now, NOPE! I don't, although I try... and I am aware, I too am guilty of allowing a few things to slip past an not take the best care of myself 24/7.
A woman by the name of Pamela Roundtree was at this event, who, by the way, lost 150 pounds by getting herself healthy in mind, body and spirit. I had a GREAT respect for her as she spoke about her journey to health and now how she helps others to become healthy.
She shared that people in her life didn't believe in her and even shut her down as she made a business for herself. She said something to the effect that she is "an entrepreneur not a hustler". She could take people's money in a very manipulative manner, those seeking to lose weight and become healthy, but she CARES about who she is helping and is with them on their journey. She wants to enrich their lives and support them. "This is the difference between a hustler and an entrepreneur" she said.
That spoke volumes to me. How many times have you felt used or abandoned by someone who pretends to authentically care or offers you misguided promises? It's easy to do. I will admit it, I have been manipulated by people who played to my pain and needs to get what they wanted from me and turn their back on me when I thought I could count on them. Have you ever felt this way? It just felt so refreshing to hear Pamela talk about this matter with such heart and honesty. I could see how genuine she was! THIS is someone I would trust to help me to get healthy.
My point here is, be in the company of people who make you feel good through their morals, values and convictions. The energy and vibe goes right through your body into your soul. She literally lit my heart up! Knowing she has such a beautiful conscious, being present with her energy was healing in itself.
Being in the company of people who are supportive, inspiring and uplifting leaves a lasting impression on the heart. I still feel positive vibrations and smile as I think about how I felt listening to her story, words and beliefs. I had to hug her later on to express my gratitude for her being real, inspiring and just great human being.
My take-away from today and I ask you to consider doing this for yourself to feel positive energy in every cell of your body:
Be in the company of authenticity.
Be in the company of support.
Be in the company of inspiration.
Be in the company of unconditional love.
Be in the company of comfort and safety.
When you feel safe, supported and okay with being YOU, then you are in the right company.
When you are in the company of people, surrounding yourself with positive energy, it literally affects every cell in your body. You are infused with positivity! It pulsates inside and through you. Pamela (as well as the other speakers) raised my vibe today at this event (wish you could have been there) and I walked away more peace filled, hopeful and inspired. It feels great to know so many good people exist. I was blessed today.
You never know who you will meet. Get out there and seek out magical experiences that are good for you and nurture your soul. Life is too short to be with negative people and really to stay in a negative environment, what you end up doing, is holding yourself back for being your best you. When you are not your best version of you, the world misses out on something extraordinary.
I believe you are extraordinary. Be sure you are living it too.
Sending you bright, beautiful blessings!
Big Hugs
Anna
