#2 211 Marathon County Provided 10,025 Referrals in 2024

United Way’s 211 is our community’s information and referral service. We help eliminate barriers by connecting people with services.


Housing was at the top of the list for referrals in 2024, and also the top unmet need.


In 2024, United Way's 211 answered 4,134 calls for help from Marathon County residents, providing 10,025 referrals.

#3 Second Annual Lottsa Pasta Drive Kicks Off March 20

Last year, about 3,300 pounds of pasta was collected. We teamed up with 26 businesses, many community members and Festival Foods.

Join United Way of Marathon County in our second annual pasta drive!


We're collecting as much as we can to benefit local food pantries.

Businesses and individuals are encouraged to participate!


Pasta will be sorted and distributed to local pantries by our Hunger Coalition.

#5 Volunteer Opportunities - Community Closet, Hunger Coalition, VRC

Whether it’s helping in our Community Closet, Mobile Closet or with our Hunger Coalition we’ve got some exciting volunteer opportunities for you. Open your calendar, gather some friends or coworkers and sign up!


Community Closet and Mobile Closet




  • Mobile Closet at Spencer Kids Group: August 5


  • Community Closet First and Third Thursdays. A one-time volunteer opportunity on the First and Third Thursdays of each month.


Hunger Coalition


Farm to Family Produce Packing: Choose your spot(s) May through November on Tuesday mornings. Your team will help pack fresh, organic produce into 200 boxes for easy distribution.

Volunteer Reception Training


April 29: Be ready to lead when disaster strikes. In partnership with Marathon County Emergency Management, we are hosting a FREE Volunteer Reception Center Training to prepare community members to manage and mobilize volunteers effectively in times of crisis.
