Living out "Pure Religion" Together

Dear Hephzibah62:4 Friend,

Are you looking for an easy on-ramp, a powerful and accessible way for you and your church to live out the call of James 1:27? Look no further than Pure Religion Sunday!

My friend Vince Smith began intentionally living out pure religion as a local church pastor and foster parent. Over the years his small steps of obedience have grown into a state-wide movement committed to bridging the gap between the desperate needs of the child welfare system and Pennsylvania churches, called Keystone Family Alliance. What a blessing it's been to connect our Wesleyan churches to this trusted regional network!

Watch Vince's invitation for people and churches to practice pure religion together, to rewrite "the story for communities and lives of children and families who so desperately need Jesus today."

Bethany Wesleyan Church is a great example of a church partnered both with Hephzibah62:4 and Keystone Family Alliance that has used Pure Religion Sunday as a tool to deepen and grow awareness and action in their church. Last November they:

  • Held an awareness service that featured a young woman formerly in foster care who is now a counselor and therapist.
  • Provided foster care/adoption resources to encourage next steps.
  • Provided donuts to their local county Children and Youth Services office with notes of appreciation.
  • Met tangible needs of several youth in foster care and families at risk.

An invitation from a secular residential facility to Keystone Family Alliance to start a Bible study for teen girls led to a beautiful collaborative effort, with ladies from several churches involved. Bethany Wesleyan ministry leader Kristin Everett explained, “This opportunity to share Christ and His gospel is just amazing, plus these young women are shown love and care from the church community!”

Pure Religion Sunday is often a first step toward this type of transformational ministry. You are invited to download your FREE Field Guide in English or in Spanish, to explore how God will lead you to shape Pure Religion Sunday at your church, on or around November 9, 2025.

Did you know that participating in Pure Religion Sunday is a starting point that qualifies your Wesleyan church for Hephzibah62:4 partnership and all its benefits? Schedule a coaching conversation here to learn more.
