Big Nancy's Journey
Storyteller Cindy Pierce celebrated the life of her mother Nancy at the Briggs Opera House. She passed at age 93 of dementia. "As we got towards the end of her life, there wasn't much conversation....but connection. Just soothing her and just giving her some release. It felt like such a gift to her," said Pierce who runs Pierce's Inn in Etna. The event benefited Walk for Alzheimer's and JAM.

Once Upon a Time
Deep in the woods, a lovely couple had twins. One was a beautiful baby girl with strawberry hair. Her name was Holly. The other twin was a hideous wolf with blood-colored eyes and shining white fangs. Learn what happens in this short animated stop-motion film by JAM intern Lia Golec. Lia got her start at CATV camp as a kid and now studies film and writing at Ithaca College.

Not Light, But Fire
There's a new tradition in Lebanon and beyond. Every year across the state of NH, towns get together to read Fredrick Douglass' electrifying speech "What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?" Delivered on July 5, 1852, the abolitionist said, "It is not light that is needed, but fire; it is not the gentle shower, but thunder." Check out this 2019 Lebanon recital, and attend this year's reading at Colburn Park this Saturday 6/29 at noon.
