NEWSLETTER | May 2022
A voluntary, county-wide collaboration focused on improving health,
health equity, and health care for Washtenaw's low-income, uninsured,
underinsured, and underrepresented populations.
The Washtenaw Recovery Advocacy Project serves as our county's recovery community organization. And its origins can be traced to the WHI's Opioid Project, which secured state and federal funding to launch the organization in 2015. Since then, WRAP has been busy educating our community about recovery and providing critically important peer recovery support services.
While the pandemic proved the critical role of health departments, it also highlighted longstanding community health disparities. The WCHD has mapped an aggresive path to build a more equity-driven department to address these disparities. ARPA funds will help them carry out various initiatives to support historically underserved areas of Washtenaw County.
