West Seattle Bridge T-Shirts
Classy and Sassy
West Seattle loves the new West Seattle Bridge T-shirts. The first wave of pre-orders hit mailboxes last week, you can catch the next tide (see what we did there), when you order by September 21st.

You can also find these Westside T's at local retailers (some limited sizes due to popularity).

From the three winning artists:

So Close, Yet So Far- Rebecca Dahlin
“My brother lives downtown and by crow, we’re only 2.5 miles apart and what was usually only a 10-minute drive is now 25 without traffic. So close yet so far. But it’s okay – the peninsula has plenty to do here so we don’t really notice so much."

Accidental Island - Noah Bell-Cruz
“Great Neighbors, Terrible Bridges: For those of us on the westside, Accidental Island is the mandatory staycation destination of 2020. Pull up your beach chair and dust off your Castaway VHS, baby, ’cuz we’re all in this together… and this is one marooning we’ll never forget!”

Mind the Gap - Mike Shaughnessy/Bradi Jones
“With a nod to the Brit catchphrase, this design was originally conceived as a limited-run sticker design of 100, just for personal fun. Friends convinced us to enter it into the T-shirt design contest.”

In the next T-shirt order, we're switching up the womens' brand from Bella+Canvas to Hanes for a roomier fit. If you have a T-shirt and need an exchange, drop the Junction a line here.
Elliott Bay Extended Patio
You asked, Elliott Bay Brewing answered the call. The first outdoor seating area in the Junction popped up. Enjoy spacious outdoor seating in the expanded curbside patio.

bin 41 Wine Pick of the Week
This week is T's pick. "I brought in this white from the Savoie region a few months ago. When I initially tried it, I thought "wow, this is dangerous. This one is chuggable...goes down soooo smooth!" Seriously you will not be able to put this bottle down!

The Vullien family has been supplying vines throughout France through their nursery since 1890. It has been said that approximately a quarter of the vines replanted in Chablis after phylloxera came from their nursery."

The Roussette comes in under $20 so it is every day, budget friendly. It is made from 100% Altesse grapes grown at the foot of the Alps. It is juicy and approachable with a rounded acidity and bright stone fruit.
Bin hours remain Wed, Fri and Saturday. (12-4 pm, until 5 pm on Friday).
Mashiko is opening for VERY, VERY limited Omakase (means "I'll leave it up to you" from Japanese "to entrust" 任せる) dine in during the week.

Celebrate Harvest Fest Oct 21-31st
The Junction won't be able to bring all the goblins, monsters and wizards together this year for Harvest Fest, but that doesn't mean we won't be celebrating!

Beginning October 21st, you'll be able to pick up, or download and print, a Haunted Harvest map. Filled with spooky treats and treasures that will be hidden around the Junction, little hands (and let's face it - grownups too), can hunt for the hidden clues. Once all the clues have been found, turn in your map for a secret surprise. Wear costumes while you're on your spooky adventure.

Watch for the Harvest Fest box! You'll be able to order your box filled with Harvest crafts you can make at home! Want to show off your creations? The Junction will have a very special Facebook album dedicated to your art.

Plus cocoa and cider on Halloween, and a spooky (online) show from School of Rock.

More details soon!

Junction Plaza Park
Personal note from the Junction Executive Director.

Thank you for all of the comments, emails and phone calls over the summer about escalating violence, and the trash at Junction Plaza Park. The Junction started fielding complaints about the activity in the park almost immediately after the Port-a-Potties (hygiene stations) were installed.
We have requested drug and mental health counselors be dispatched to the park to work with the people who need assistance.

If you would like to make a call or send an email to Human Services to support the Junction's ongoing dismay and requests, please click on the button to email Human Services (cc the list of emails too).

We appreciate your support of our ongoing quest to get folks into services - and equally - to maintain a safe downtown for West Seattle.

Thank you - Lora Radford Junction Executive Director
