Aloha Marci!

The outpouring of love and support for our beloved island from visitors around the world has been nothing short of breathtaking! Alongside prayers and loving support, many of you have asked "How can I help?"

We've put together a summary of the myriad ways you can make a difference, whether from afar or during your upcoming Maui vacation.

VISIT 🏝️

When you visit Maui right now, you become an integral part of our island's recovery and resilience. The devastating wildfires that swept through West Maui on August 8th left many of our loved ones with shattered homes and dreams. In these challenging times, your visit is not just a vacation; it's a lifeline.

By choosing Maui as your destination, you're helping our people stay employed, providing much-needed job security for countless families who depend on the tourism industry. Your patronage ensures that our businesses can keep their doors open, allowing them to rebuild and reinvest in our beautiful island.

VOLUNTEER 🙋

Devoting just a few hours or a single day to volunteer on Maui can profoundly impact those affected by the wildfires, offering hope and comfort as they rebuild their lives. Your support, whether through grassroots initiatives or established agencies, can make an immeasurable difference in our community.

What does that look like right now?

Feed those in need through:

Hungry Heroes Hawaii, Common Ground Collective, Feed My Sheep, World Central Kitchen, and Salvation Army

Farm and cultivate food for the displaced through:

Hua Momona Farms

Aid at a donation or distribution center through:

Maui Food Bank, Maui Rapid Response, Hawaii Tours, and Red Cross

Help injured animals recover or provide supplies to displaced families with pets through:

Maui Humane Society

Provide specialty care like mental wellness assistance and pre or post-natal support:

Rebuild homes. This has yet to begin, but when it does, we could use all the help we can get through agencies like:

Habitat for Humanity Maui

DONATE 💰

Providing monetary funds to any of the organizations above will make a wonderful impact on their ability to assist our community. If you prefer to donate to a fund, here are a few vetted funds that we support:

Maui Strong Fund is through Hawaii Community Foundation and assists with a multitude of relief efforts to address the urgent needs of the community from providing supplies, funding shelters, acquiring medical care and grief support, to purchasing power and internet substations.

Maui Fire and Disaster Relief Fund through Maui United Way provides a one-time $1,000 grant to those impacted by the fires who have lost their homes and possessions.

Kokua Restaurant and Hospitality Fund for Maui is through Hawaii Ag & Cullinary Alliance and is also providing a one-time payment of $1,000 to employees of a restaurant, bar or hospitality establishment that has been destroyed or shut down due to the fires.

We are immensely grateful for your compassion and support during these heartbreaking times. Your presence on our island, whether as a visitor contributing to our economy, a volunteer extending a helping hand, or a generous donor directly aiding our community, makes a substantial impact. Together, we can rekindle the spirit of aloha and help Maui heal, rebuild, and emerge stronger than ever!

Warmest Aloha,

The Ali'i Resorts Ohana
